Backend Developer

About the role

Khalti is a fast-growing payment gateway in Nepal. We're hiring a Backend Developer to build secure, high-throughput payment services that thousands of merchants depend on every day.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain core payment APIs and settlement services.
• Ensure PCI-aligned security practices across all endpoints.
• Optimize database queries and service latency under high load.
• Write integration documentation for merchant developers.

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years in backend development with Python or Go.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Experience with payment systems or high-traffic APIs is a plus.
• Rigorous about testing, logging, and monitoring.
